Gone are the days when your culinary education options where
limited to CIA, New England Culinary Institute (NECI) and Johnson and
Wales. Although these are the oldest and most established in the nation, there
are now literally hundreds of schools to choose from. Listed below are
only a few of the many (probably one locally in your area) culinary schools or
academies. Choosing a school is very important and the selection needs to
depend upon what YOU want out of your educational investment. Best advice

My alma mater.
Great schools located in Vermont with very intensive hands on
training. I already had a Bachelors and this program
allowed me to continue my education without having to retake
classes I have already taken in college. 7 to 1 student /
teacher ratio is lowest you will find unless you apprentice in
France.
This is a great school and you will find out very quickly
whether this is the field for you. Real working chefs,
real food, real pressure, real education, real sense of urgency
while learning the art in culinary in the kitchen.
As you put together your school comparisons ... NECI should be
on that list.
