Birchermüesli

Amount             Ingredient
2 cups               Quaker, rolled or Old Fashion
1/2 cup              condensed milk, sweetened
2 cups               yogurt
1/4 cup             milk
1/4 cup             chopped nuts
1 cup                seasonal fresh fruit
to taste              nutmeg
to taste              cinnamon
to taste              sugar

Procedure
This is a traditional Swiss cereal. It is classified as a mush.
The trick to making it is not to use measuring cups. Rather make it the
consistency you like. Thick, use less of the liquids. Thinner, use more
of the milk and yogurt. The mixture will thicken as it stands, so make it
thinner than you want it to turn out. If it gets too thick, just add more
yogurt or milk. Too thin, add more oats. If fruits are susceptible to
browning from air (ex. apples and bananas) add 1 or 2 tsp. lemon juice.

First make the mush or base. Mix the oats with yogurt, milk, condensed
milk. Work this mixture until you get the desired consistency.

Now season with the nutmeg, sugar, cinnamon until you get the flavor you
want.

Now gently fold in the fruit and allow the mixture to sit for at least 30
minutes before eating.

The entire mixture will last for about 3 days depending upon the ripeness
of the fruit.
